Dr Jamila Abdulhamid Atata is a veterinarian, academic, veterinary pathologist, educator, researcher and equine-health professional whose academic and professional interests span veterinary pathology, veterinary clinical pathology, diagnostic medicine, equine health and welfare, and pathology-based approaches to animal disease investigation and prevention.

She is an Associate Professor of Veterinary Pathology in the Department of Veterinary Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ilorin, Nigeria, where she contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary education, clinical pathology training, research, student mentorship, academic assessment and professional development.

Her academic career is distinguished by an interest in translating pathological and laboratory findings into clinically meaningful information that improves disease diagnosis, case management, animal health and preventive veterinary medicine.
